Case Studies
Persimmon Homes
Persimmon asked DTE to supply a SIRS roof to one of their Modern Method of Construction (MMC) trial sites. Naturally we jumped at the chance. Within a fortnight of being invited to be part of the trial the roof was designed, delivered to site and constructed on this new build, timber frame house. The erection process only took 1 day.
By employing a SIRS roof in this particular house type, DTE was able to offer Persimmon an extra 7m2 of usable floor space. For this particular project, as well as the roof components being supplied, insulated SIRS dormers were also supplied, each were erected in only 10 minutes.
Opal Homes
This was an entirely different type of project to the Persimmon project. This was a regeneration project. After the site sizes had been confirmed 3 SIRS roofs were delivered to site, and were erected in 1 day.
In this instance two MMC’s worked in conjunction with one another. Opal Homes constructed the walls from a thin joint block system and the SIRS roof was fixed on top. The SIRS system was constructed very accurately to fit in with the existing site.
