Donaldson Timber Engineering Opens in Andover

Donaldson Timber Engineering (DTE), one of the country’s leading roof truss manufacturers, has announced the imminent opening of its sixth UK manufacturing facility. Located at Andover in Hampshire, and representing an investment in excess of £1m, this plant will service the south west of the country and is the latest step in DTE’s carefully planned, long-term, strategic expansion programme.

Targeting modern housebuilding companies across the country, Donaldson Timber Engineering offers its customers a logistically placed, highly efficient and economic service. With a current UK production capacity of 17,000 trussed rafters per week (2,000 per week at the new Andover plant) and continually generating net profits in excess of £1m, Donaldson Timber Engineering is well placed to look to the future.

Managing Director George Watson says:

“DTE is part of a group of companies established over 140 years ago. In the last 5 years we have doubled our sales from £12m to over £24m. We are committed to investing routinely in the latest technology – Andover for example will have the latest CNC production equipment. Our aim is to expand and build on our industry position – and we intend to be around to do so for at least the next 140 years!”

DTE Andover will be in production from 1 November 2001.
