Q I am looking to purchase roof trusses for my new house, can you help?
A Yes of course. Do you have drawings of the house from the Architect, builder, or a sketch? We ideally would require copies of the house/building plans, elevations and sections in order to provide you with a quotation.
Q What is the area you cover?
A We can deliver anywhere in the UK and Southern Ireland. We would require the location of your project for the quotation.
Q What is your delivery period?
A We guarantee a 7 working day delivery service anywhere in the UK upon receipt of approved drawings.
Q Are you members of any trade associations?
A Yes. We are members of: The Trussed Rafter Association (T.R.A) which represents the interests of the whole of the Pre-fabricated Timber Roof Truss Industry, developing safety in the interests of the general public, its customers and its members. The Timber Frame Industry Association (T.F.I.A) which promotes the good use of timber frame structures through the UK, and the Timber Research and Development Association (T.R.A.D.A).
Q Do you operate a Quality Assurance Scheme?
A Yes. We have had a Quality System to ISO9000, since July 1991.
Q Can I purchase other material for my roof as well as trusses?
A Yes. We can include beams, wallplate, bracing, gable ladders or ironmongery.
Q How would I receive a price?
A You would receive a fully detailed quotation within seven working days.
Q What is included in the prices?
A The manufacture and delivery of the trussed rafter product, associated timbers and ironmongery as detailed in the quotation.
Q Do you supply drawings?
A We make available, free of charge, a Structural Design Certificate, Layout drawings and a copy of the Design calculations, if required.
Q Can the trusses and the timber I purchase be treated?
A Yes. The truss timbers are, as standard, double vacuum pressure treated with Hicksons Vacsol Aqua. Likewise with the loose timbers, they are either the same or have the Hicksons Tanalith treatment.
Q If the prices are acceptable what do I do?
A We prefer a verbal, fax or e-mail acceptance, for speed. On receipt, we would send out a full set of drawings for you or your builder/engineer, to carefully check for accuracy of interpretation. You would return a copy of these drawings, signed by you or your representative.
Q How do I pay?
A If the payment terms are by proforma invoice, then on return of approved drawings we must receive payment, otherwise we cannot start any manufacture. If credit terms have been approved then the return of the approved drawings is sufficient to book production.
Q Can I amend the delivery date stated on the quotation?
A We ask that a delivery date is stated on your order, ie at the time of the return of approved drawings, however you can amend this date up to within four days of the programmed date.
Q What do I do if there have been some alterations to the building since I sent in the original drawings?
A You or your representative would make the amendments to our drawings, or if major changes have taken place, send in new plans elevations and sections and revised drawings would be sent out again for approval along with a revised quotation if necessary.

Q What happens next?
A We book the job into our progamme for manufacture, to ensure delivery on the required day. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a time on site. We draw our customers' attention to the Trussed Rafter Association Handbook, available from the TRA for a small charge, and our Method Statement for the Unloading of Trussed Rafters.
Q Can I request a specific time for delivery on site?
A Unfortunately we cannot guarantee a time on site. There is usually more than one job on a vehicle. The vehicle could be held up on the road or unloading previous drops etc. If the job is of a size that one vehicle only is used we would still not guarantee a time but we would give some guidance.
Q What happens if I need to make changes to a truss or trusses once the roof has been erected?
A No truss members can be cut, or any of the trusses altered without consulting ourselves for advice. We can supply solutions to most enquiries of this nature in the form of additional material and method statements. However, we have to make a charge for this service, and we are sure you would wish the Structural Guarantee to be maintained.
